Posted Date: 11/03/26 (12:00 PM)

KHS senior, Blake Tomasoski, has been selected by his school as this year’s National Society Daughters of the American Revolution “Good Citizen Representative” for the Onagomingkway Chapter. Blake is the son of Luke & Katie Tomasoski of Breitung Township.

The DAR Good Citizenship Award is presented to one student at KHS based on the qualities of dependability (truthfulness, loyalty, and punctuality), service (cooperation, courtesy, and consideration of others), leadership (personality, self-control, and ability to assume responsibility), and patriotism (unselfish interest in family, school, community, and nation) to an outstanding degree. Blake consistently demonstrates these core values through his leadership in and out of school.

Blake demonstrates an exceptional academic record with a 4.0 GPA and is actively involved in extracurricular activities. He maintains top academic marks while participating in a variety of school sports, clubs, community service, and youth leadership positions. Blake is a KHS National Honor Society member, a member of Student Council and Key Club, vice president of Flivver Family, and serves as a Student Representative on his Parish Council. He has served as a captain and quarterback/safety for the football team for three years, a team captain for track and field (competing in long-distance events), and a point guard for the varsity basketball team. In addition, Blake co-founded UP Shine window cleaning and works in landscaping and maintenance for Coleman Engineering. He has dedicated extensive volunteer hours to his school and community, including rinking/raking at the VA hospital cemetery, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, assisting at ski jumps, altar serving and mentoring youth, helping with youth sports camps, and actively volunteering with his church youth group.

Blake indicated, ”I have prided myself on being dependable, both in the classroom (my work is turned in on time, I have achieved a 4.0 GPA and my name is often left for the substitute if they need help) and in athletics (showing up early to practice, listening to the coaches and referees, and being the last one to leave the locker room to make sure it’s cleaned up after games).” Additionally he added “Continuing to exhibit the qualities of the DAR Good Citizen, dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism will serve as a good compass as I pursue my Physical Therapy goals in college and beyond”.

“Blake exemplifies what it means to lead by example—demonstrating unwavering character, dynamic leadership, and a genuine commitment to serving others. Whether setting the standard of academic excellence in the classroom, driving meaningful change in the community, or inspiring teammates in the athletic arena, Blake lifts everyone up and sets a powerful benchmark for others to follow." stated Mr. David Lindbeck, Kingsford High School Principal.

Scholarship Coordinator, Jamie Lockhart, added “I have known Blake for many years and he stands out as one of the most exceptionally honest, hardworking, and principled students I know, and it comes as no surprise he was selected as this year's KHS DAR Good Citizen representative.”
