In May, several Breitung Township Schools staff members traveled to Northern Michigan University to attend the Upper Peninsula Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (UP MACUL) Conference. This annual event provides educators with valuable opportunities to explore innovative ways to integrate technology into teaching and learning.
Attendees participated in sessions focused on emerging educational technologies, instructional strategies, and digital tools that can enhance student engagement and achievement. The conference also featured a keynote presentation from Dr. Joseph Lubig, a retired NMU professor, associate dean, and director of the School of Education, who shared insights on the evolving role of technology in education.
We are especially proud that our Director of Learning Technology, Justin Cowen, serves on the UP MACUL Planning Committee and contributed to the conference as a presenter. Justin led two sessions for educators from across Michigan: The "I Know Nothing About AI" Workshop and An Introduction to Vibe Coding.
Breitung Township Schools remains committed to providing our staff with professional learning opportunities that help bring innovative, effective, and engaging educational experiences to our students.
