Physical Education 6

The goal of this course is to increase a student’s sense of personal confidence and to view themselves as capable and competent.  It should increase mutual support within a group and enhance a participants fitness levels.  As a group is developed gains are made in problem solving, cooperation, respect and self-esteem.  .All activities are taught through participation in certain games and problem solving challenges.

Students will be required to change their clothing daily into shorts and a “T” shirt so that   personal hygiene is reinforced with staying clean.  If a child does not dress out for class he/she will earn a zero for that day and will have to walk around the gym for the hour so that they get some exercise.  When a student receives five zeroes for not dress out for class he/she will fail the class.

Students are graded on their participation and their ability to work within a group.  Each week participation points are earned.

By the end of this class students should gain knowledge and skills which promote positive cooperative attitudes, self-responsibility, positive social interaction and group problem solving skills.
