Required of all Eighth Grade students
This course is designed to help students improve their reading, writing, listening, speaking, and viewing skills.
Students will read genres including novels and plays; students will write compositions including narrative biography and research papers; students will continue to improve grammar/mechanical skills; students are expected to participate in class discussion, cooperative learning groups, and other related activities.
Resources used include the McDougal-Little textbook, the Accelerated Reader program, and supplementary texts and technologies.
Successful students will complete all in-class and at-home assignments on time. Assignments should exhibit individual best effort.
