Keyboarding 6
The
students will learn the following skills:
Basic keying skills:
- Fluent manipulation of letter,
figure/symbol, and basic service keys by “touch”.
- Part one is devoted to
alphanumeric keying skills.
- Part two consists of Skill
Builders placed between each pair of units.
- Presents two alphabet or figure
keys in each new-key lesson to ensure mastery of keyboard operation.
- Delays keying skill on the top
row until correct technique and an essential level of keying skill have
been developed.
- Uses scientific,
computer-controlled drills to develop maximum skill in minimum time.
- Employs paragraphs that are
triple-controlled for copy difficulty. Easy copy gives way to copy of
low-average difficulty; then, average difficulty.
- Stresses keying technique first
(without timing); then, speed of manipulation (with strategic timed
writings); and accuracy of keyed copy last (using restricted-speed
practice).
