Earth Science is a course that emphasizes learning that is useful and relevant. The goal is to promote science literacy for all students where students will acquire the ability to construct, reflect, and use scientific knowledge. Some of the teaching methods and strategies used in the classroom will include lecture, note taking, labs, projects, technology, current events and real life experiences to enrich the scientific concepts discussed in class. Students will be assessed in the following areas: homework, quizzes, tests, and notes. Unit tests and final exams will be given. All students will be expected to know and define the expectations in Earth Science as established by the Michigan High School Science Content Expectations (Science HSCE).
