TIPS FOR FILLING OUT
|
|
1. Neatness always provides a good first impression. Keep the papers in good condition, write or print legibly in ink. Make a practice copy and then transfer your information to the sheet you submit for review by the NHS Faculty Council. 2. Make sure you have spelled words correctly and have used good grammar. 3. Make sure you have filled out all items which pertain to your achievements and accomplishments. Be sure to explain fully what various activities include, especially in Section V: Other Community Activities. 4. Make sure to have both a signature and phone number to verify your community activities, and that you have a signature of an adult sponsor for your service activities in the school. 5. Make sure you have signed and dated the information sheet and that a parent or guardian has also signed and dated the information sheet. 6. Note that the directions at the top of the first page of the form tell you to “Please complete all sections.” If items are omitted and/or signatures, phone numbers and dates are not included, the Faculty Council may deem your information form to be incomplete and therefore not consider your request for membership in the Kingsford High School Chapter of the National Honor Society. 7. Make sure your information form is completed and returned within the time frame indicated on the form. Failure to meet this deadline will result in disqualification. 8. Faculty Council members and faculty members in general consider prospective members should be well above average in all four areas: scholarship, leadership, character and service. Make sure your make these characteristics evident in your everyday life in school and let the information form show how you meet leadership, service and character. |
