The Jeff & Mary Treml family has established a scholarship to honor the memory of their daughter, Jolene Kim Treml.

Jolene Treml

Jolene was wonderful person that shined in everything she was involved in throughout her life. Whether it was in the classroom focusing on her nursing studies, working as a dietary aide, spending time with her beautiful family, or having her eye on the next outfit change, her bright, infectious smile caught everyone’s eye. Her passion for the healthcare field brought her in touch with people young and old, many of which were lucky to have experienced the heart of such a special person that would lend an ear and help out however she could.

Applicants for the scholarship must be pursuing a degree in the healthcare/ medical field and be accepted for admission at any 2- or 4-year college/university, or a technical or vocational school. Applicants must also have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.

The first Jolene Treml Memorial Scholarships, in the amount of $1,000 each, will be awarded this spring to three Kingsford High School graduates in the Class of 2018. Following this inaugural year, the Treml family will continue to award a $500 scholarship to a member of that respective graduating class.

The Board of Education of Breitung Township Schools and the administration of Kingsford High School are pleased to accept the opportunity to coordinate such a meaningful scholarship for the Treml family and the graduates of Kingsford High School. Individuals interested in donating to the Jolene Treml Memorial Scholarship can contact Rita Edberg, Scholarship Coordinator/KHS, or Lyle Smithson, Principal, 431 Hamilton Ave. Kingsford, MI 49802 or by calling 779-2670, ext.5, for more information.
