PowerPoint

Project 4

For the third assignment in PowerPoint, you are to create a presentation on one of your favorite movies.  You will utilize the Internet and any search engine such as www.google.com, www.yahoo.com, and www.ask.com. A very handy site to use is the Internet Movie Database (www.imdb.com).

Your presentation should include the following:

·         Create a new presentation and save it as My Favorite Movie.

SPECIAL NOTE:  This presentation will utilize buttons and links to navigate through the presentation.  This presentation will not be run in order.  The user will navigate through the presentation by clicking links.  To move between slides, you will add Action Buttons.  Run the Microsoft Help (Question Mark in the upper right hand corner) while in PowerPoint (a blank presentation will do fine) and do a search for Action Buttons.  Read the information on adding a link to button shapes to make them action buttons.  Apply your newfound information to this presentation.

·         Other than the Index slide, each slide should contain a home button that links back to the Index slide and a left and right button that links to the previous and next slide. This can easily be done in slide master view.

·         The first slide will be your title slide.  It should include a title and your name in the subtitle placeholder.  It will also have a link of any type you want that will link you to the second slide.

·         The second slide will be your Index slide.  This will contain links to all of the other slides in your presentation.

·         For the other slides in your presentation, you can choose any layout you wish, though try to be consistent.  Most items on each slide should be animated.  The following slides must be used:

q  Overview: This slide should contain an overview of the movie with the following information: Year the movie was released, the movie’s rating, the running time of the movie, and the genre of the movie (Drama, Comedy, Musical, Science Fiction, etc…)

q  Actor/Actress: Two slides (at least) of the two main characters.  The title of the slide should be the name of the actor/actress.  The character they play should be the subtitle.  Include info such as birth date and other movies they have been in.

q  Director: Contains the director of the film. The title should be Director with the director’s name included. Include info such as birth date and other movies they have directed.

q  Producer: Contains the producer of the film. The title should be Producer with the producer’s name included. Include info such as birth date and other movies they have produced or even directed.

q  Production Company: Contains the name of the movie’s production company (i.e. Paramount Pictures).  Include on this slide other popular movies that this company has produced. Some movies may have multiple production companies.

q  Storyline: This slide will be an overview of what the movie is about.  It is to be done by you in your own words.

q  Critique: This slide will be your personal critique of the movie.  This is you chance to tell me why you chose the movie, what made it appealing, and your overall impressions. Don’t be afraid to critique any of the negative parts of the film.

q  Awards: This slide will contain any award information the movie was nominated for or won.  This can be the Academy Awards or the Golden Globes. Many of these awards consist of Best Picture to Best Actor to Visual Effects.

q  Soundtrack: This slide will contain soundtrack information for a movie. This can include a listing of the songs and artist(s). Some soundtracks also have songs nominated for an Academy Award or a Grammy Award.

q  Photos: Can be multiple slides.  These slides will contain different photos that you found for your film and will be arranged in some sort of collage of pictures, each being animated into the slide.

q  Bibliography: This will be the last slide.  It will contain links to web sites you got your information from.  (i.e. Google (for photos), The Internet Movie Database, Disney, etc…).  In each case, when you click the link it will bring you to the web site.

·         Choose an appropriate theme and colors.

·         Apply animation effects to each object on your slides.  Make sure that each object animates automatically, not on a mouse click.

·         Apply a Slide Transition to each slide.  Do not choose random.

·         You can add sound samples or even video clips if you want, but only after you complete the basics as described in the directions above.

·         Save a shortcut to this presentation on the shared drive .
