Printout Center Information:
1. Always Save and Always Proofread before printing.
2. Check the Printer Setup on your program. Make sure you are on the KHS Room 201 or KHS Room 201 Samsung Printer. Double check the correct printer selection in the Print dialog box.
3. Before printing, check the printer, paper and make sure the printer is On-Line (Says Ready on the screen). Press the Go button if the printer says Off-Line or Powersave, it should now say Ready. If the printer says Tray 2 Load Letter you must load the printer with paper (see steps below).
4. If there are several people waiting at the printer, wait to print your information. Please try to limit the amount of people standing at the printer to two at a time.
5. If the paper doesn’t print the first time, check for errors on the printer or on the computer screen before you print again. If you cannot find a problem, check with the teacher before you print again. Remember printed documents always come out SOMEWHERE at SOMETIME. Don’t print more than once unless you know the document print job has been canceled or deleted..
6. Stand at the printer and watch the document print in case of paper jams, ink loss and other printer problems.
7. Fix all paper jams by opening the various doors on the printer and removing jammed paper & throwing it away. You must open and close the top cover after a paper jam (every time). If there seems to be no paper jammed, open and close the top cover and press the Go button to resume the print job.
8. Throw away ALL stray papers into the recycle bin. Failure to do so could mean a loss on your Readiness to Learn grade. Make sure extra papers are not left by printers, computers, etc.
9. Report any serious problems to the teacher.
10. The printer center has a stapler, extra staples, paper cutter, scissors, paper clips, three hole punch, etc. for your use.
Loading Paper:
1. Take large stack (one pack or less) of paper located in the drawer and/or cupboards beneath the printer.
2. Open the paper drawer located on the front of the printer by pulling gently but firmly.
3. Fan the paper once to keep pages from sticking together.
4. Place the paper in the drawer being sure to push the corners under the metal corner holds.
5. Close the drawer to resume printing.
Dropping Assignments (Electronic Turn in):
1. Finish the assignment you are preparing to ‘drop’.
1. Save the assignment to your own home drive (my documents) before saving to the shared drive.
2. Always Insert the Filename at the bottom of your document. (View)-Headers and Footers- Insert Auto text-Filename. You may have to switch from a header to a footer by clicking the Switch between header and footer button.
3. Using the (File) - Save As command, select the shared drive and the folder to drop this particular assignment as designated by the teacher.
4. Save the assignment as your LAST NAME_FIRST NAME with no commas, punctuation or symbols.
5. DOUBLE CHECK by doing a (File) - Open and making sure YOUR NAME is in the list of drops for that exercise.
1. Remember drops can be identified with an originating label as to the user that saved the drop. Drop your own work! BOTH the USERNAMED and FILENAMED person will be accused of cheating.
2. Continue the steps for the next exercise that is to be dropped.
3. Drops can also be copied and pasted when the Save As command is not an option (Microsoft Access, Visual BASIC)
