            The Design Gallery is used to add various objects, such as accent graphics, logos, and calendars to a publication quickly.

                A text box is used to add text to a publication.

        b)    List the steps required to create a text box and enter your name.

                1.    Select the Text Box tool on the Objects toolbar.

                2.    Drag on the publication page to create a text box.

                The publication is displayed as it will be printed.

                The Color/Grayscale button changes from a black and white version of the publication to a color version, and back again.

 

10.  a)    Describe how a template is created and then used.

                A template is created by adding objects and applying formatting. The template is then saved to the Templates folder. Templates are used by creating a new publication and then clicking Templates in the New from a design list.

        b)    Give two examples of templates that a grocery store might create.

                Answers will vary. A grocery store might create a weekly flyer template and a business card template.

 

11.  a)    List the steps required to create a side fold card to be used as an invitation.

                1.    Create a new publication.

                2      Select the Invitation Cards publication type to display templates.

                3.    Select a side fold card template.

                4.    Set options in the Customize section.

                5.    Select Create.

        b)    Describe how an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper is folded to create a greeting card.

                A greeting card is made by folding an 8.5” x 11” piece of paper twice, which results in a front panel, two inside panels, and a back panel.

 

12.  a)    How do you know which page in a multiple-page publication is displayed?

                Each page in a publication is represented by a page icon at the bottom of the window. The displayed page icon is shaded.

        b)    How can you display page 3 in a publication that has 4 pages?

                To display page 3 in a publication, click the page 3 icon at the bottom of the page.

                        Layout guides are blue guides that are used to indicate margins and columns.

        b)    What are ruler guides?

                        Ruler guides are green guides that can be placed anywhere on a page to precisely arrange objects.

        c)    List the steps required to create a vertical ruler guide at 3” on the horizontal ruler.

                1.    Move the pointer into the blue area of the ruler.

                2.    Drag to the 3” mark on the horizontal ruler.

        d)    Can a ruler guide be deleted? If so, how?

                        A ruler guide is deleted by dragging it off the publication page.

 

14.  a)    List the steps required to add three pages to a publication that currently has one page.

                2.    Type 3 in the Number of new pages.
