Introduction to Microcomputers course that KHS offers is required
for all incoming freshman and is required for graduation. The course
is designed to teach students the basics of computer usage which
include word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and
electronic presentations. This full year course offers the students
the chance to learn the basics of Microsoft Office 2007 so that they
can efficiently utilize these tools throughout their high school
years. The applications that are learned in Microsoft Office 2007
are Word (word processing), Excel (spreadsheets), Access
(databases), and PowerPoint (presentations). Microsoft Office is the
most popular software suite used on the Windows platform and this
gives the students a chance to sit and learn the proper usages of
the application in an academic environment.
