Al Unger's first year as Athletic Director was 2004. He succeeded
Don Edens who retired after giving over 35 years to Flivver sports with 17
of those years as Athletic Director. Al was an industrial arts teacher at
KHS for the past five years and has been involved with the KHS wrestling
program.
 
Al graduated from Kingsford
High School in 1980.
He was a wrestling standout and owns three individual U.P. Championships.
Al also participated in football and track for four years. He also
participated in wrestling at the collegiate level at N.M.U.
Al is married to former KHS alumni Lori Peebles ('81) and has two
daughters, Lindsay and Kristin. He also likes to spend time during the
summer helping out the Ski-ters organization in which his daughters
participate.
