Convection Currents
Items needed
Beaker
Water
Hot plate
Shavings from the pencil sharpener
Place a beater of water on the hot plate
Turn the heat of the hot plate to medium
Drop in the pencil sharpener shavings ( a small amount of them)
As the water warms the shavings will rise to the top. The water at the top will cool and the shavings will drop to the bottom of the beaker. This shows the conection current.
