vanilla
Put several drops of vanilla in a balloon. Blow up the balloon and tie it. Shake the balloon. The vanilla particles are smaller than the spaces between the rubber molecules in the balloon and will diffuse out. You smell the vanilla through the balloon.
Note this is why a balloon gets smaller over a period of time as well.
