Media Center Policies

 

  1. All students are entitled to use media center materials.
  2. Students using the media center must sign in using their entire name (no initials or nicknames, please).  Each person must sign in for his/herself.  If an entire class comes down, the teacher will sign the class up.
  3. Eating, drinking, and chewing gum are not permitted.  Coats and jackets are not allowed unless part of a clothing set.
  4. Only two students per table.
  5. Internet use policy and computer use policy must be followed when using the media center’s computers.
  6. Please be quiet.  Respect the rights of other students using the media center.
  7. Anything taken from the media center must be checked out.
  8. The student’s agenda book must be used to enter or leave the media center.
  9. Books are checked out for three weeks.  They can be renewed if no one is waiting for them.  Magazines are checked out for one week.  Fines are five cents per day per item if overdue.
  10. All materials must be returned before taking final exams each semester.
  11. Materials lost or damaged beyond repair will have to be paid for. 
  12. Computers in the media center may be used for class assignments only—no personal use, including accessing e-mail accounts.
  13. Behave yourself and follow the rules or you will be asked to leave.
  14. A copy machine is available for 10 cents per copy; laminating for 10 cents per foot; transparencies for 20 cents each; calculator batteries for 50 cents each.

 

Media Center Computer Lab Policies

 

    1. Only students with teachers may use the lab (i.e., no use without supervision)
    2. Students must sign in on the sheet next to their computer number.
    3. Please ask before printing and limit it to three pages at a time.
    4. No use of floppy disks, CD-ROMs, or flash drives without permission.
    5. You may NOT download anything from the Internet.
    6. Follow the district’s computer use rules or you will lose all BTS computer access.

 

Other Stuff you Should Know

 

      1. If you have a fine, you should pay it before checking out another book.  All fines MUST be paid before final exams can be taken.  Return or renew your items on time to avoid getting fines. 
      2. PowerSchool is updated once a week and will show any fines you currently owe.
