SPANISH I - 1 Credit – Grades 9-10-11-12

Listening, comprehension and speaking, as well as some reading and writing, are stressed through activities designed to encourage students to communicate with one another in both large and small groups. The primary goal of Spanish I is for the student to function at a basic level in Spanish in routine school and home situations, so a minimal use of English is expected. Weekly vocabulary lists, mastery of basic regular and irregular verbs in the present, present progressive, future of probability and preterit tenses and common expressions also play a vital role in the curriculum.
