2013 Veteran's Day Program Thank You
Breitung Township Schools would like to thank all of those individuals who helped to make this year's Veteran's Day program a huge success. With the help of these individuals, we are able to thank in a special way all of those who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces providing us with the very freedoms we enjoy in this great nation.
First, we would like to offer our sincerest "Thank You" to guest speaker James E. Grider, a retired Sargent First Class from the Army. His witness and words were truly an educational presentation that our students will cherish. His energy and enthusiasm in getting the high school and middle school students to participate in a loud and boisterous "Thank you" to our veterans was wonderful to behold.
The music department under the direction of Crystal Hogan (Concert Chorale) and Ben Sherk (Band) once again wowed the crowd with beautiful renditions of our National Anthem and the songs "You Raise Me Up" and "Already Home" (vocal) and the instrumental "Battle Hymn of the Republic" (band). We offer a special "Thank you" to our great music department.
Special thanks also go out to our student participants Dylan Lawton (President, KHS Student Council) for the leading of our country's Pledge of Allegiance and Tyler Povolo for the playing of Taps. Thank you also to Vicki Waterman, director of our foods service, for providing refreshments for all of those community members who participated in our program.
Finally, our program is never complete without the presence of the Carpenter Clash Post #363 Color Guard from the Kingsford American Legion & Sons of the American Legion. We thank them not only for their service to our country but their continual service in giving of their time for our Veteran's Day Program.
And of course, thank you to our student body and community members for taking the time to remember and give thanks for those men and women who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces.
