NMU Concurrent Enrollment at KHS
On Friday February 5, 2016 Kingsford High School and Northern Michigan University signed a Northern Promise letter of intent. The Northern Promise is a Concurrent Enrollment partnership between Northern Michigan University and Kingsford High School under which Kingsford High School students can concurrently enroll for NMU credit while a student at Kingsford High School. Students this spring are eligible to enroll for 4 NMU Calculus credits while enrolled in John Kriegl's Pre-Calculus classes.

2016-17 Early Kindergarten/Kindergarten
Registration for students entering Early Kindergarten/Kindergarten for the 2016-2017 school year will be held on the following dates:
- Thursday, March 10, from 7:00 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 3:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, March 22, from 9:00 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 5:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 13, from 7:00 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 3:30 p.m.
All eligible children living in Breitung Township and those registering as Choice students should register at this time. Your child is eligible for Early Kindergarten/Kindergarten if he/she is at least 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2016. Children currently in Early Kindergarten classes at Woodland Elementary DO NOT need to register, as they are already on the roster for the next school year. If you cannot make any of the times above, please stop in any time at the Woodland Elementary School Office to register your child.
If a child is not 5 years of age by September 1, 2016, but will be 5 years of age not later than December 1, 2016, the parent or legal guardian of that child may enroll the child for the 2016-2017 school year if they sign a waiver. Parents can pick up a waiver in the school office when registering their child.
